The partnership with Genaxis will allow the dissemination of ASQ Body of Knowledge to the corporations and their work force to produce quality goods and services for a sustaining worldwide environment for quality.”
Six Sigma is a statistical measure of variability, typically in a given process, and a business performance target specifically focused on critical customer specifications. Variation is the cause of defects and out-of-control processes. According to leading estimates, most companies today are operating at levels of around four sigma, or approximately 6,000 defect per million. When a company has achieved a Six Sigma rate of improvement, it has limited defects to 3.4 per million, which is virtually defect-free performance.
Six Sigma is a committed management approach to quantifiably solve problems and optimize critical processes. Adapting and applying Six Sigma methodologies can lead to dramatically improved business performance and bottom-line profitability. Six Sigma is not designed solely for manufacturing enterprises. Financial institutions, healthcare organizations and service providers are also reaping the benefits of Six Sigma deployment.
Implementing Six Sigma into your corporate culture improves processes, maximizes business performance, and adds to your bottom-line. Even better is the end results: a huge competitive edge for your company in the marketplace. What makes Six Sigma work is well-chosen training and a top-down commitment that permeates your organization.

What is Six Sigma?

Six Sigma at many organizations simply means a measure of quality that
strives for near perfection. But the statistical implications of a Six Sigma
program go well beyond the qualitative eradication of customer perceptible
defects. It's a methodology that is well rooted in mathematics and
statistics.
The objective of Six Sigma Quality is to reduce process output variation
so that ±six standard deviations lie between the mean and the nearest
specification limit. This will allow no more than 3.4 defect Parts Per
Million (PPM) opportunities, also known as Defects Per Million Opportunities
(DPMO), to be produced.
Benefits of Six Sigma
By implementing Six Sigma wisely on carefully selected projects, companies
will benefit from:
-
Improved customer satisfaction
-
Reduced cycle times
-
Increased productivity
-
Improved process flow, capacity and output
-
Reduction in total defects
-
Increased product reliability
-
Decreased work-in-process (WIP)
